Not doing an all-out review of my 2019 CD purchases, but you can get the perFUNctory assESSment here, before I rank my Top 10 list at the end of the year. (Please Note: the Amazon links on this page will take you to... wait for it... Amazon, and if you end up purchasing an item – and I mean... ANY item on Amazon, not necessarily the one I linked — my site will earn a referral fee from the Amazon. Please consider using our Amazon links to access Amazon whenever you think of buying something from Amazon. Sheesh... Now, that was a whole lot of Amazon. By doing so, you will help me; keep the costs of maintenance low, those pesky ads at bay, and provide you with many more reviews. Did I mention the best part yet? It won't cost you a penny. Sincerely, Thank You for the support.) PACO VENTURA – Madre Tierra Francisco Ventura is the guitarist of the Hard Rock band Medina Azahara, since 1989. A long standing Spanish answer to Deep Purple and Uriah Heep. While I'm not familiar with the band, I do love and always look forward to his solo releases. You can expect two things from them. Melodies, perhaps mostly associated in Evergreen music with a harder edge, and an impressive list of guest musicians. The term "Too Many Cooks" does not apply here, for everyone is closely following the lead of the master chef Ventura. The result is a fulfilling melodic dish of instrumental music. In case you were wondering about the guests, those versed in Melodic Metal will certainly recognize the names of such greats as: Rudy Sarzo, Mike Lepond, Jimmy Waldo, Toni Franklin, and Phil Sousan, while guitar enthusiast will swear they heard the names of: Stuart Hamm, Michael Angelo Batio, Joey Tafolla, Kiko Loureiro, and Jennifer Batten somewhere. For those who care, beside the original tunes, Paco and his friends play a great tribute to A-Ha's "Take On Me", as well.
